Welcome to Gemma Harley, a DFN Project SEARCH intern on placement with ANS

We are delighted to introduce Gemma Harley who is a DFN Project SEARCH intern on placement with ANS.  Last week Gemma did her first presentation on the positive aspects to being autistic to a group of Glasgow City businesses as part of the Autism Aware Glasgow City project.  Lynsey from ANS and Tanya, from Tanya Tennant Training and Consultancy were very proud of Gemma as she was absolutely fantastic and the feedback from participants was great. Gemma said "I felt nervous before doing the presentation as I have never done nothing like that before, but I also felt comfortable to do it as I knew Lynsey and Tanya were there if I got stuck. As well as I had practice quite a few times before to make sure it was going well and to get any tips. Once I did it, I felt proud as I managed to do it and I never thought I could do something like that in front of strangers"

Well done Gemma, it’s great to have you as part of the team!

Gemma is also a member of the Autism and Ageing pilot team and is working on a number of the aspects of the pilot with us.
